 Below is a logo I designed first in black and white. The logos I created for my digital media class display who I am as a person. Not necessarily experience, but who we are within and what makes us, us. I wanted to keep the layout clean and straightforward. I, myself, am a very outdoorsy person. I grew up camping, hiking, and always doing outdoor activities, whether it be throwing a frisbee or having a lemonade stand. I love to be outdoors and active. This can be in extreme or very simplistic ways. At first, I wanted to create mountains, but that did not capture my creative touch.


I decided to create a bear because It’s one of the few symbols that capture a large portion of who I am the things I love to do—everything from wildlife and hiking to relaxing and eating. To me, this has a profound meaning than just a bear. Also, I placed a footprint inside the bear to represent my love for hiking. They were traced from the bottom of hiking shoes. The footprints in the bear are mine. It is exceptionally fitting for who I am. You can’t necessarily depict the way I want this to be pictured in the black and white. However, the colored footprints, especially the green to blue, represent hiking on the ground to the sky. This symbolizes trekking a steep incline while hiking through a mountain. If you think about this literally, it could also parallel running into a bear on a trail, which happened to my father and me. What a close encounter! Lastly, the camera I placed within the bear above the footprints represents the camera I always have with me. I love photography. I have always loved nature photography. Having a camera forces you to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life. To also allows you to have an excuse to enjoy the great outdoors and to destress. And that is why it fits for me. Specifically, in Florida, because I love taking pictures of the sandpiper, which is a type of bird species.

Illustrator CC - Self Portrait "Be True. Be You. Be Kind." I believe mantras inspire and give confidence to people so they can do or become whatever their heart desires. Furthermore, mantras have the ability to bring together large groups of people for one common goal.  For my self-portrait propaganda poster, I chose the quote “Be True. Be You. Be Kind.” because it personifies who I am. This mantra was first told to me by my mother right before the beginning of my sophomore year. It has stuck with me ever since. Self-confidence is something that many people struggle with on a daily basis, because of their inability to “ignore the noise.” Too many people are told they look ugly, are fat, or have something else wrong with them. Those negative words can destroy individuals with very little self-confidence. Photoshop - Somewhere

Photoshop ~Somewhere~ Somewhere, a place that we were asked to place ourselves. The purpose of this piece is to put ourselves in an area that we would love to be or haven't been. Above, is either a picture that was taken from a drone or a helicopter. Accurately, this photo captures the NYC Marathon runners. I chose this photo because I want to one day run a marathon. As a retired student-athlete, I love competing and training for a goal.   Above is the picture I chose for myself. I had a friend sit on top of their car and take this for me with their iPhone. We both thought it was a great idea to run with the sun beaming down on my right side to create the correct running shadow. I chose to use an iPhone for capturing this to match the blurry effect as much as possible. I will say I enjoyed choosing this for my first somewhere experiment because it wasn't overly challenging. InDesign - Business Cards

InDesign ~Business Cards~ For this project, we were asked to create three business cards through InDesign while incorporating the previous logo we made in Illustrator CC. The three layouts I designed are below! Business Card 1 - Front Business Card 1 - Back For this first card, I wanted to keep the layout clean and sleek while still being creative. I didn't want my logo to be on the front of my card because I felt as though it would be too cramped. Therefore, I chose to keep the front, simple and sleek while still maintaining the design. Also, the footprints guide the viewer's eyes to the edge of the card, which would cue them to flip it over to find my information. Honestly, this is my favorite design out of all three.
